Yes, yes, yes!!! Even after we've been marketing on the Web for almost 15 years, too many marketing and PR people don't get this. The logical next step is to apply the rules of direct marketing to your website.

Whatever PR folks say, when you look at what they do it's clear that, for too many of them, the Web is a competitive arena for showing just how clever, complicated and edgy you can make a website.

Then, when visitors get impatient waiting for the Flash animation to finish and go to the competition, the PR folks don't have a clue why The Campaign isn't working.
